Joe Shochet Joins TA-DA! Language Productions as New Advisor

LOS ALTOS, Calif., September 2, 2020 /TA-DA! Language Productions, Inc./ -- Edtech startup TA-DA! Language Productions today announced that Joe Shochet has joined as a new strategic advisor. Shochet will be bringing his decades of experience in game design and interactive learning to TA-DA!’s imminent development of creative products that bring languages, cultures, and music to children around the world.

“Joe Shochet is a legendary children’s app maker and we are thrilled to have him as TA-DA!’s new advisor,” says Michelle Glorieux, CEO and Founder of TA-DA! Language Productions. “An important mission of TA-DA! is to bring technologies ‘back to books’ so the youngest may learn languages and culture through beautifully illustrated paper products. Joe will play a critical role to help TA-DA! achieve this mission and create an app-in-a-book experience in our products.”

Joe Shochet is the co-founder and Chief Product Officer at codeSpark, an edtech company that creates the No. 1 ranking coding app to teach young kids about computer science via interactive gameplay. The codeSpark Academy app has been introduced to over 30 million kids in 190 countries. Shochet has been building world-class and award-winning children’s games for over 20 years. He helped create the first version of Alice3D, still in use at over 300 universities for Computer Science 101, and led the creation of ToonTown Online for Disney.

“I am excited to join Michelle and the TA-DA! team as an advisor. As somebody who has built a 25-year career developing quality interactive products for kids, I immediately recognized the passion and care in this talented team,” says Joe Shochet. “Now more than ever, parents are looking for worthwhile, innovative experiences to support their children’s learning and play — especially in language, culture, and music that often do not get enough attention at school.  I’m honored to help guide this important work and look forward to the journey ahead.”

“Joe's passion for innovation and commitment to education, coupled with his extensive experience in children’s app design and entrepreneurship, make him a great addition to the TA-DA! team. Joe will add strength to TA-DA!’s language learning products with enhanced user experience and interactive designs. We are looking forward to working with him," says Michelle Glorieux.

TA-DA!’s most recent developments include the Language Adventures series interactive board books in five languages (English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, German, and French), as well as the first-of-its-kind children’s Talking Dictionary series. The first, revolutionary Talking Dictionary offers nearly 800 touchpoints and 10,000+ audio assets in each book, 10 beautifully illustrated scenes in and around the house, hi-fi sound (8x better sound quality than other sound books), up to 23 randomized native speakers per word, five levels of gameplay, original sound, and an integrated headphone jack. The English Talking Dictionary is expected to debut in 2021.

About TA-DA! Language Productions:

TA-DA! (https://www.tadalp.com) was created to inspire children to explore the magic of language. TA-DA! believes language learning for children should be immersive - and fun. Children should have a way to interact with native speakers no matter what languages their family speaks; they should be able to embark as early as possible; and it should be accessible without screens in the early years. TA-DA! magically weaves paper technology, art, words, storytelling, sound, and music to bring native speakers to children so that they may learn languages & culture in a fun, new way.
