The Magic of Music for Little Language Learners
Music is our first language.
Before babies say a word—before they understand meaning—they feel rhythm. That’s why music makes learning language easier, more natural… and way more fun!
Music is multisensory—kids hear it, move to it, and feel it.
Music is cultural—music carries stories, history, and meaning.
Music is joyful—and when kids love learning, they remember more… and want more.
And here’s something wild: When kids hear different styles of music, different sounds, and different instruments, their worlds, minds and hearts also open up.
They become better listeners. More curious. More connected to the world around them. I’m talking about wiser, kinder, more connected kids.
That’s why we’re taking a moment to celebrate one of the most influential—and perhaps underappreciated—instruments in history.
Before Guitars, There Was This...
When we think of instruments that shaped music, we think of guitars, pianos, violins—but none of them came first.
Before guitars, before rock & roll, before country and folk, there was the banjo.
An instrument with roots tracing back over 400 years to West Africa.
A sound that shaped early American music—from Appalachian folk songs to jazz.
A rhythm that makes you want to move—without even realizing it.
And one person who knows this better than anyone?
Béla Fleck.
This 15-time Grammy-winning musician has spent his life exploring the magic of the banjo—taking it from bluegrass to classical, jazz to world music. He understands that the rhythm of the banjo is like the rhythm of language itself—it gets into your bones before you even know the words.
But how many kids have ever actually heard the banjo—really heard it?
We set out to change that.
Meet Béla and his family of banjo virtuosos, including little Juno, featured in our English camping title.
TA-DA! x Béla Fleck: A Language Adventure Like No Other
That rolling, bouncy banjo rhythm? The one that makes little feet stomp and little hands clap before they even know why?
We wanted kids to experience it—not just hear it, but feel it, play with it, and learn through it.
And that’s when we called Béla.

TA-DA!
“This book features Bela Fleck on banjo (He’s a 15 time Grammy Award winner)!
Like the other books, there are great illustrations and original music and multiple languages available.
I think TA-DA! should be shouting to the world all the musicians they are using.
I had to look them up - turns out they are a very very small company in their first year of self publishing.
WOW! color me impressed at what they are producing. Great job TA-DA! keep the original books and music
coming!”
“My son loves this book. The audio buttons are easy to use for his little fingers, the German enunciation is
flawless but the fact that it’s spoken by children’s voices resonates so much with him. He adores the
beautiful banjo music and enjoys looking at the colorful pictures.”
“5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Vocabulary!

TA-DA! music is just in a different league. My partner and I were so tired of children’s books and toys with terrible sound effects, and TA-DA! has really set a new bar, and all in service of helping kids learn. Our kids have 4 TA-DA! sound books and they LOVE them. This camping book is definitely a favorite!!”
