LOS ALTOS, Calif./Luxembourg, Lux., Oct. 1, 2021 /TA-DA! Language Productions, Inc./ –– Edtech startup TA-DA! Language Productions announced today that 3x Latin Grammy-Award winning Andrés Landínez has signed on to sound produce a first of its kind: the company’s highly anticipated Children’s Talking Dictionary with 1000 words in the Spanish language, spoken by dozens of real, native speakers, and made alongside the prestigious Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); making Landínez a very first ‘sound author’ of a new genre of book that brings the languages of the world to the laps of children.

Landínez shares this unique first alongside 4x Grammy-Award winning Jesse Lewis, who recently completed the American English counterpart, slated to hit shelves worldwide later this month. Lewis is known for his collaborations with cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

“This isn’t passive entertainment. It’s fruitful learning thanks to a marriage of trusted content, sound and evolved tech,” states Lewis.

These very special ‘books’ have more than 10,000 native speaker pronunciations and sound effects, all easily accessible with the touch of a finger on real paper. The sound quality is stunning, high definition. And what’s more, working alongside local artists, UNAM and its educators and administrators at both Texas and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato campuses in a round table setting, culture is thoughtfully explored and presented in context on the pages for children to be exposed to real, cultural learning at the same time they acquire the spoken words of a language. All this in a beautiful, bound, tactile format – a real, hardback book.

“ Families are craving materials that teach their kids not only languages, but awareness of the different customs in our world – and more and more are wanting the experience to be hands on,” says TA-DA! CEO and Founder Michelle Glorieux.

Landínez brings decades of experience as a highly accoladed Latin American sound and recording engineer in both the film and music industries to TA-DA!’s mission of imparting languages, cultures, and music to children around the world through their interactive, “sound-paper”.

“Sound, and particularly music, are critical to our mission of bringing to our homes and classrooms the voices and culture of real humans living all over the world. Music is after all our first language, carries culture, and is a natural conduit for language learning,” says Glorieux.

TA-DA! and the UNAM team have been working on the physical content portion of the Spanish Talking Dictionary for more than a year now, going so far as to create polls to gauge best word choice.

Now Landínez will step in to take on his role, a new one in the history of bookmaking: that of ‘sound author’.

“Not only is Andrés among the very best in his field, but he is also a wonderful, well-intentioned human being, deeply committed to children, education and TA-DA!’s mission. We are elated to have those qualities in the sound author of this very special project,” says Glorieux.

Andrés Landínez is the recipient of 3 Latin Grammy Awards, additional Grammy nominations, and a Premios Arpa Nominee for his work with multiple genres including Latin Pop, Latin Christian, Tropical Fusion and more.

My passion for audio has kept me pushing the boundaries to explore new ways to capture, enhance and interpret, because there is a story and an experience to tell with sound.
— Andrés Landínez

“Andres’ passion for innovation and commitment to education, not to mention his role as a father raising a bilingual child in a country different from that in which he was raised make him the perfect producer for a brand-new genre of book that brings both the sights – and now also sounds of the real world - to our children. We are absolutely delighted to have him on board," says Glorieux.

About the Children’s Talking Dictionary and Language Adventures series:

TA-DA!’s most recent developments include the Language Adventures series interactive board books in six languages (English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, German, Luxembourgish and French), as well as the Children’s Talking Dictionary in American English, made alongside 4x Grammy-Award winning Jesse Lewis. The Talking Dictionary series brings children the building blocks of language learning, words, spoken by real native speakers located worldwide –  and their culture, in a fun, unique way. There are 1000 words, nearly 800 touchpoints and 10,000+ audio assets in each book; and in the first volume, 10 beautifully illustrated scenes in and around a house in a target country. What’s more there is hi-fi sound (8x better sound quality than other ‘sound’ books), up to 23 randomized native speakers per word, five levels of gameplay with the help of children’s #1 educational app maker Joe Shochet of codeSpark, volume control and an integrated headphone jack.

About TA-DA! Language Productions:

TA-DA! (www.tadalanguages.com) creates fantastically fun products to inspire children to explore the magic of language and culture. TA-DA! believes language learning for children should be immersive – and fun. Children should have a way to interact with native speakers no matter what languages they have access to at home or school; they should be able to embark as early as possible; and it should be accessible without screens in the early years. TA-DA! magically weaves paper technology, art, words, storytelling, sound and music for children ages 0-14+ to bring native speakers to children so that they may learn languages & culture in a fun, new way.
