LOS ALTOS, Calif. ––TA-DA! Language Productions is proud to announce its multilingual book, “A Funny Day at the Zoo,” recently won the gold and bronze medals from the Moonbeam Children’s book awards. Launched by the Jenkins Group in 2007, the Moonbeam Children’s book award recognizes exemplary children’s books and their creators “that inspire our children to read, to learn, and to dream.”

TA-DA! brought home a gold medal in the picture book – enhanced & apps category as well as bronze in the paper art category. An expert panel including librarians, educators, booksellers, and reviewers of all ages judged the awards’ entries. Medalists were chosen from 1,140 total submissions and represented 36 U.S. states plus D.C., 4 Canadian provinces, and 7 other countries.

“The Moonbeam Children's Book Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children's books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading. The Awards recognize and reward the best of these books and bring them to the attention of parents, booksellers, librarians - and to children themselves,” commented Jim Barnes, Awards Director and Editor of Independent Publisher from Jenkins Group.

TA-DA!’s winning title, “A Funny Day at the Zoo,” is part of the Language Adventures collection. The book tells the story of a little boy and his stuffed animal sidekick who discover a secret at the zoo. Upon a light touch on each page, the book introduces 12 words pronounced by native speakers, real animal sounds vetted by the San Francisco Zoo, and original music crafted by a 4x Grammy® Award-winning music producer. The books are created for children ages 0-5 + and available in five languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, French, and German).

“We’re thrilled to be in the company of such a diverse group of medalists, and honored to be recognized for creating books for children that help them discover language and in the process expand their worlds," said Michelle Glorieux, CEO and founder of TA-DA! Language Productions. “We want this book to be a positive experience for the children, one that will teach them being open and receptive to our differences so it’s a natural part of their upbringing.”

The book offers a unique musical soundscape that transports the readers to the story while exposing them to a variety of musical genres and instruments. “Music is integral to our mission: music is our first language, the universal language, the carrier of our cultures and traditions, and an undisputed conduit for language learning – especially for our little guys,” said Jesse Lewis, music and sound director of TA-DA!.

Created by accomplished artists from multicultural homes, a globe-trotting language teacher and a mom of a trilingual, and a 4x Grammy® Award-winning music producer and sound engineer,  TA-DA!’s interactive talking books create a delightful, multi-sensorial, and cinematic reading experience to spark language skills and imagination.

In addition to “A Funny Day at the Zoo,” the Language Adventures series features two new titles, “An Awesome Ocean Tale” and “A Magical Camping Trip.” The trilogy will be available to order by March 2021.

About TA-DA! Language Productions:

TA-DA! (tadalp.com) was created to inspire children to explore the magic of language. TA-DA! believes language learning for children should be immersive and fun. Children should have a way to interact with native speakers no matter what languages their family speaks; they should be able to embark as early as possible; and it should be accessible without screens in the early years. TA-DA! magically weaves paper technology, art, words, storytelling, music, and sound for children ages 0-14+ to bring native speakers to children so that they may learn languages & culture in a fun, new, unforgettable way.
